“Unity among people, regardless of their background or beliefs, holds the potential for creating a strong and vibrant society”.
On Thursday, August 1, 2024, the Cathedral of Christ the Living Saviour was filled with the harmonious voices of young choristers, as we celebrated the 212th Anniversary of the Ceylon Bible Society with the 32nd Festival of Choirs. This remarkable event, held in honor of God’s abundant blessings, showcased the unity and grace that define the Society’s mission.
With His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Brian Udaigwe, the Apostolic Nuncio of Sri Lanka, as the Chief Guest. Along with the eight school choirs the Distinguished guests, school principals, Women’s Committee members, and current and former General Council members, joined the large congregation in a heartwarming Thanksgiving service.
This festival, celebrating 212 years of ministry, was not just a musical event, but a profound reminder of the strength found in unity, faith, and the grace of God that continues to guide the work of the Ceylon Bible Society.
