This effort is carried out with the aim of compiling the six-part Study Bible into a single volume, revising and updating the 20-year-old notes, and unifying the notes for the Deuterocanonical books. The Chairman of the Sinhala Bible Translation Committee, Rev. Fr. Daya Welikadaarachchi, and the Secretary, Prof. G.P.V. Somaratne, are taking the initiative in leading this committee and consists of Reverends nominated by the heads of Churches using the Sinhala New Version. The committee meets every Friday to discuss. This year, we have successfully held 23 meetings and have completed the study notes for the books of Matthew to Acts. Work is ongoing here, revising the existing notes with the help of the Global Study Bible notes. We thank God for His grace in enabling us to complete the work accomplished so far.
